Brian Kinney, M.D.

Medical Director, Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

Spa 7’s Medical Director, Brian Kinney M.D., is a reputable and skilled board certified plastic surgeon with a special interest in injections, skin treatments, lasers and medical spa services. He has been a principal investigator with original research to obtain FDA approval on a number of injectables used to smooth wrinkles, plump facial lines and lips and has experience with the latest products like Restylane, Juvederm, Botox, Radiesse and others. Dr. Kinney earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees after completing the Harvard/MIT Health Sciences and Technology program. He then went on to attend medical school at Tulane University and was further trained in general surgery and plastic surgery at UCLA in Los Angeles.

Career Achievements

A past President of the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation of the US (PSEF) and a current Board Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Kinney is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of numerous organizations in medicine, science and engineering, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), PSEF, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS), the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (IPRAS), and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).

A Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at USC School of Medicine, Dr. Kinney has served on the Editorial Board of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal from 1997-2009 and the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal 2009 to date. He has won several awards for his professional work (including the Distinguished Service Award of the PSEF, its highest honor), presents and teaches at national and international meetings, serves as a consultant to biotech and engineering companies, and continues to author articles in journals and textbooks. Dr. Kinney has co-edited a new 2,000 page, standard textbook of Plastic Surgery and is a well-known expert on cellulite, body contouring and non- invasive treatments such as Endermologie. His work in the fields of plastic surgery and technology has placed him in the group of the world’s most well-known top plastic surgeons.

Dr. Kinney has appeared on ABC’s Nightline, Fox’s Extra, CNN, Hard Copy, The Today Show, The Discovery Channel, most of the local Los Angeles news television stations and all of the four major national news networks. He has been featured on radio and in numerous newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, London Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal. Journalists from Vogue, Glamour, Allure, Newsweek, Spa Magazine, People Magazine and many others have interviewed him about plastic surgery, cosmetic and beauty treatments. He has also presented/interviewed on radio, television and in newspapers in Europe, Russia, Asia, South and Central America, and been featured in documentary films. He has lectured or performed live surgery and injections for teaching conferences in worldwide locations, such as Paris, Tokyo, Rome, Moscow, Copenhagen, Vienna, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paolo, Belgrade, Buenos Aires, Mumbai (India) and many other locations worldwide.

During the Bosnian war, Dr. Kinney led surgical relief missions and was received in the Presidential Palace in Zagreb, Croatia. He has also volunteered and organized surgical relief missions in Mexico. With years of experience, he remains sought after for teaching at national and international conferences, as well as consulting for various biotech and engineering companies.

Cary D. Nelson, M.D.

Dr. Cary D. Nelson, a board certified family practitioner, is currently the Medical Director of M.O.S. Medical Group Inc. He also performs medical aesthetics procedures at Skinetics in the City of Orange, and at Memorial Prompt Care in Huntington Beach.

A Southern California native, Dr. Nelson earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles and studied medicine at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and New York Medical College; he completed his residency training at the USC-PIH Family Practice Program in 2005, serving as co-chief resident.

Dr. Nelson is certified in Botox Cosmetic, multiple dermal fillers (Restylane/Juvederm/Captique) and in facial volumizers (Radiesse). He also specializes in IPL and various laser techniques for skin rejuvenation and resurfacing, wrinkle reduction, permanent hair reduction and leg vein therapy. Dr. Nelson is dedicated to providing safe and effective aesthetic procedures utilizing cutting edge technology and combined with various anti-aging medicine applications. His hobbies include weight training, music and a devotion to healthy living thru dietary, psychological and spiritual means.

Julianne Gentry

"Cosmetic Nursing is an amazing art form that brings to the surface the natural inner beauty of each individual". Julianne, a native Californian, began her artistic journey at the LAC/USC School of Nursing while working simultaneously in cosmetic dermatology. As she began working with children and families, she developed the gentle, personal touch that defines both her demeanor and techniques today. In 2007, Julianne intensified her study of cosmetic nursing, receiving certifications in Botox use, dermal fillers and a variety of lasers. Working alongside world renowned Beverly Hills Cosmetic Dermatologists, Julianne enhanced both technique and artistic ability, focusing primarily on lip enhancement. Julianne also enjoys photography and has the privilege of raising 3 children and a vivacious golden retriever.

Jane Darby

Registered Nurse

Jane Darby was born in Liverpool and raised in Australia. Jane has spent her last twenty years as a nurse. She graduated in 1999 from the University of Texas at Dallas as a Women’s Health Care Practitioner. Immediately after graduation she ran three rural Health Clinics. She has been certified in lasers, Botox, and dermal fillers for over 2 years, and has done over 10,000 procedures.
